John T. "Jack" Lewis
On Monday, Jan 10th, 2000, I lost a good friend by the
name of Jack Lewis. Jack was born July 24th, 1925 in
Philadelphia, and lived a full life. He was a partner
in Jack's Sunshine Shop Tanning Center, Wintersville,Oh,
a repair man for the Repair Plus Jewelry Box, Ft
Steuben Mall, Ohio, and a retired foreman at
Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp's basic oxygen furnace
operation at Mingo Junction, Ohio. He was Catholic by
faith at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Wintersville, Ohio and was a member of the American Legion Post 557,
Wintersville, Ohio.
Jack was a breeder and showman of championship Irish
Wolfhounds and a member of the Irish Wolfhound Club of
America for over 40 years. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army.
Jack was a good friend and was always there for me
when I needed him. His advice helped me greatly in my
competitve career and in life in general. I will miss
him greatly.
